Guess I didn’t get the greatest picture of her going home in her car seat...
She had a cute brown headband to wear but since her head is so small, it was huge on her. Shanelle has a really small head. Probably another reason why her delivery was ‘easy’.
We were so glad to go home. Neither Jeff nor I slept well at the hospital, although she did. It was just nice to go home. I would’ve gone home Friday night if I could, but looking back it was probably a good thing we stayed the one night because she was really mucous. They took her to do a blood sugar level check (they were checking her levels since she was small) and were gone for over 10 min, so we went to see why it was taking so long and the nurses had her in the football hold upside down since she kept on choking on all this mucous. So it was nice to know help was close if we needed it because it gets scary sometimes when your newborn baby is choking.
We stayed longer on Saturday then planned because they needed to do her bloodwork for the screening that they do, but they needed the blood 24hours from the time she was born, so we had to wait till 3:50 on saturday before they did the bloodwork and then we went home after that.
Mom and Dad watched Jaycie and Bryce till Sunday night which was SO nice to just be at home the three of us and relax and get some sleep. It was wonderful and we were so grateful.
