Black Friday Trip 2011

The kids were fishing on the high deck. They had fun casting down and then reeling it back up again and again.

Bryce wanted to take a picture of me and here I am after shopping all day!

We had a fun trip down to the lake and got our Christmas shopping all done.
This year Target and Walmart both opened the night before for all the black friday deals. I didn't want to be up late at night so I went in at 6am the next morning and it was wonderful! There was no one out shopping because everyone had been shopping the night before. I still got everything on my list except for the $5 barbies. Other than that all the door busters were still all in stock. No crowds or craziness, no lines. It was wonderful. Missing the barbies was definitely worth it. Who knows, I might not be so lucky next year, but I'm willing to take my chances. So it was a wonderful morning with no kids or anyone, just me and Shanelle shopping. Then I went back and went into Kallispell again later with Jeff and the kids to shop a little more and go to the parade. Turns out we missed the parade since they switched the time but we ended up going to the mall after we found out that we missed it and found Santa there anyway. I guess he always goes there after for the kids to get their picture with him and visit him. Neither Jaycie nor Bryce wanted to sit on his lap or talk to him, but they still got some milk and cookies and a treat bag full of fun things. So it still ended up being really fun in the end even though we missed the parade.
We enjoyed our weekend down at the lake, got some good deals and shopping, didn't get stuck because there wasn't any snow and also had a lot of time to just relax and do whatever. Relaxed all day Thursday, and all day Saturday and Sunday morning. It was a fabulous weekend.
