The kids saw Grandma Dorene’s big black canning pot (which we were supposed to be returning that day for Grandma Dorothy) and it became their soup pot.
I gave them some old spices (I’m one of those people who replaces their spices if they get too old - not 6 months like some recommend, but after a year or so, they go into the ‘old spice’ pile for the kids to use for this very purpose) and they went to town. They had so much fun all morning adding this and that and using the turkey baster to suck it up and squirt it back in, big spoons to stir. Then they sang songs while they stirred. It was grand fun. They were having so much fun together.
It was a wonderful morning full of creativity and good times together. I love these moments. The kids saw Grandma Dorene’s big black canning pot (which we were supposed to be returning that day for Grandma Dorothy) and it became their soup pot.
