We did glazed and chocolate dipped. I would have to say that the plain glazed are the best. I think we might just stick to all glazed next time, although Bryce still likes the chocolate ones so we might do a few for him, but other than that, the glazed are the preferred by all.
Wowzers! We have a kids in grade one! So crazy to think that. We had fun the night before packing and putting her name on all her brand new school supplies and chatting while doing it. You know, each stage is great, the baby stages are fun, but so are the older ones too. It’s so fun to sit and chat with Jaycie about whatever, or things she thinks about, or in this case we talked a lot about school. She picked out her outfit for her first day and we laid it out ready for the morning. (we actually do this each night, and last year for kindergarten too, to prevent any clothes misfits in the morning. This makes each morning go smoothly and she doesn’t have to spend the morning trying to find clothes that she is happy with. A shirt that was fine to wear last week will all of sudden be too bunchy or buggie to wear or vice versa, so picking out the clothes the night before eliminates all this. But I have to admit she has gotten so much better over this last year with her clothes ‘bugging her’) When we got to her classroom she was excited to find that her desk was right beside Brynn’s, front and center too. Jaycie is lucky to have such a good best friend, I hope it stays that way all through her school years. Bryce had a good time coming with us too and he was excited about Jaycie’s classroom and desk and participating in it all. It will be nice for him when he goes to school since he has already ‘been there and done that’ before with his sister. Although his personality is such that he wouldn’t have a problem anyway. Jaycie is a little more shy although she did wonderful this year with no separation anxiety or tears. Going to the same school in relatively the same place helped a lot. Both Jeff and I went to the same school and sat in those same desks, so it was a little nostalgic for me and while it has been quite hard to send her off each day, (or maybe I’m extra emotional being pregnant, probably a combination of the two....) her being gone ALL DAY, I’m happy that she is doing so well, is having fun and enjoying being at school. She is doing amazingly well!! And of course to continue with our tradition we made donuts. All I can say is scrumptious! They were even better this time around. It’s a fun tradition that the kids both love and I’m excited to do it year after year. I love traditions and want to create more and more in our lives together as a family. Any fun traditions that you have that you want to share?
