Edmonton 2012

Going down the elevator. It was a glass elevator that went down at an incline like an escalator. So cool! There were plants and waterfalls on either sides. The kids thought it was the neatest ever, as did I.

Going back up the elevator after breakfast. The kids loved the big breakfast and all the choices and their own little chocolate milk too!
A view from the very top.

Shanelle happy and loving our walk back! Love her!

Bryce and Jaycie both loved the revolving door. Fun to experience all these new things and novelties.

Ready to go swimming down at the "spa" pool

Swimming!!

Hot tubbing

Jaycie knows how to hot tub in ultimate relaxation.

Out in the courtyard after swimming checking out all the paths and flowers and fountains etc.

Jaycie felt like she was in a fairy courtyard, it was magical with the 'castle hotel' and the fairy courtyard

Jaycie and Bryce's bed, they loved that their bed was made each day and enjoyed playing with their new games and toys they received from the kids club when they checked into the hotel.

Throughly enjoying his healthy lunch :) Loved his kids meal

Jaycie chose taco time for lunch (they went to the food court in the mall down the street and got their lunch while I stayed at the hotel and admired Shanelle while she slept. Jeff of course got the big mac meal from McDonalds. Still his favourite.

Bryce and Jaycie took turns pushing the buttons for the elevator. Another fun novelty

Shanelle amazed by the fish at the library
She absolutely loved watching the fish swim around and was very intrigued by them.

Bryce driving his pirate ship at the library

Driving the trains around the track and up and all around

Our hotel at a distance

Not too sure about all the crazy people and smoking and things and smells downtown. Glad we don't live near there!

We felt a little out of place with all the fancy cars and then our brown montana minivan. (these cars in the picture aren't that fancy, but there sure were a lot of high end ones coming and going!)

Wearing dads hat and playing peek-a-boo

Jaycie having fun with her slinky

Pizza and Movie night. We kept the tradition, ordered pizza in and watched a movie.

Jaycie shouting horray for pizza and movie night. We all love this tradition in our family and ordering pizza to be delivered in our hotel room blew our regular pizza and movie nights at home out of the water! "Way more fun" says Jaycie as you can tell my her hands up in the air.
Oh what a trip!!

We went up to Edmonton for the HSAA conference (I belong to the HSAA union) So since they pay for it all we decided to do it again this year (we went last year too and did the exact same thing)
Why we loved the trip and had so much fun.....
Stayed in the "Princess Hotel"
When we checked in they gave the kids a bag with travel games and slinky and even gave Jaycie a princess crown
The beds were comfy and the rooms were nice (and who doesn't love getting their bed made for them and the room cleaned up by someone else?)
Ordered pizza and watched a movie in the hotel. What is it about getting pizza delivered that is so much fun? I guess its a novelty for us since we never ever do it at home. The kids absolutely love it! And the bread sticks and dipping sauces? - Yum!
Swam everyday even twice on the one day. Shanelle splashes like crazy and just grins the whole time. Jaycie and Bryce are swimming fanatics too. They LOVE swimming.
The change area is a spa - there was mouthwash and lotions and sprays and nice showers with shampoo and body wash etc.etc. in dispensers to use. It was all so fun and 'uppity' Jaycie and I took the experience and had fun pretending we were royalty at the spa. It was all to fun!
Went to the library and enjoyed the kids area there with the ship, the fish tank, train tracks, computer learning games, fun new books and puppet show.
Had fun eating out, Bryce loved getting the little toys in the kids meals, Jeff loves his burgers
I took the kids with me to the breakfast conference both mornings and let Jeff sleep in and have some quiet time. We had a hoot together riding the glass elevator, and like I said above enjoyed the huge buffet breakfast and getting to choose whatever and having their own chocolate milk. Everyone thought they were so cute too! Aww, makes a mother blush :) It was fun to spend the mornings with them since I was gone for most of the day to the conference.
Jaycie loved the little bottles of shampoo and lotion that you get.
Bryce loved the shower caps that you get
Swimming - I know I mentioned that but the kids sure loved swimming so it deserves another mention
Anyways, onto part 2 of the trip.
